ABOUT FORT COLLINS PHYSICIAN DR. LISA BUTLER
The pursuit of Total Health
I have practiced in a traditional family-practice medicine for twelve years, caring for patients of all ages. Over the past twelve years, I have seen many patients struggle with chronic health problems that are difficult to diagnose or manage, especially within the constraints of today’s healthcare system. This has inspired me to found my own Integrative Osteopathy practice in order to dedicate more one-on-one time to helping patients with these complex and chronic conditions.
In my approach to healthcare , I combine osteopathic medicine and integrative medicine to customize a unique plan of care for each patient, considering his or her Total Health: body, mind and spirit.
My path to becoming a Doctor of Osteopathy
I grew up in southeastern Michigan and earned my BA in English from the University of Michigan. I then worked as a technical writer for ten years, with various companies in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. Unfulfilled in this work, I pursued a Master’s in Sports Nutrition, became a Registered Massage Therapist, and finally obtained my medical degree from The University of North Texas Health Science Center – TCOM.
My life interests
My interests include numerous physical activities: running, biking, swimming, triathlon, alpine skiing, and hiking. Cooking healthful food is another of my passions. I grow a large garden and dedicate a lot of time to the study and enjoyment of a healthy diet. I also dabble in photography, painting, writing poetry, and other creative projects.
